" The first time I saw Jim was because of a footdrop. I had gone to other foot companies for five months with no satisfaction with shoes etc. When I saw Jim, it was for two appointments for braces he put in my shoes (that he had made recommendations about). I could walk and keep shoes on all day and I was not walking off balance.
He was amazing. He took time to talk to me and explain things. My husband had gone to Jim for years for foot orthotics . I would recommend Jim to anyone.
Thanks Jim!"

"I am so greatful that the heel lift for my right shoe has been so helpful. I am in less pain when I walk, I can now stand straighter, on both legs at the same time when I stand still. I should have done it a lot sooner!"

Friendliness is their top priority. The product is 10/10. Jim Amesbury knows his work and I would refer him and the company to anyone. I have always been treated as a number one person. I can't say enough and I find there is never any negative comments. I have been with Custom Orthotics since 1998."

December, 2010
I am writing to share my thoughts about my experiences with Custom Orthotic Design Group. I am a diabetic, with diabetic neuropathy which has reduced the feeling and flexibility in my feet. Consequently, in the spring of 2009, I severely separated my ankle and required surgery to correct the problem. The recovery has been prolonged and difficult. By Nov of 2009, I was again walking with the aid of a walker and my foot was in a large air cast. In December 2009, my surgeon recommended an orthotic device called a CROW-Walker for my right foot to assist with further recovery and to provide support for my ankle. The CROW-Walker is a custom made orthotic that looks like a large black boot. The surgeon recommended Custom Orthotic Design Group as the best people for my needs.
I called Custom Orthotic and made an appointment with Jim Amesbury for my first consultation and explanation of what was involved with a CROW-Walker orthotic. As we arrived, not knowing what to expect next, we were greeted in a friendly and professional manner which helped to ease our apprehension. Jim and his staff explained what was involved, showed us samples of the device the surgeon had recommended and proceeded with the measurements which included taking a cast of my foot and analyzing my gait and stance. They determined that in addition to the support that the boot would provide, I would also need correction of an over-pronation of my step which was further exaggerated following the surgery. Within 2 weeks, the orthotic was available for testing and fine-tuning. At this time, Jim called ..... (a colleague) Linda, who is a partner in the business, to provide additional consultation on his assessment. They made some additional fine-tuning and sent me off with my new orthotic which was a vast improvement over the air cast. I proceeded with physiotherapy treatments, exercise and follow-up appointments with my surgeon. By September 2010, with the support of the CROW-walker, I was walking on my own with out the assistance of a walker and using only a cane. A follow up with my surgeon this January, resulted in the replacement of the CROW-Walker with a new much simpler AFO device that will fit in my shoe. Of course, I contacted Custom Orthotic Design Group to make the new support.
The whole process was very positive, Custom Orthotic Design Group answered all of my questions and responded to my concerns in a professional pleasant manner. In addition, they coordinated the completion and filing of claim forms with the Ontario Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program for available funding. Their staff made the entire process much easier. I highly recommend that anyone requiring any form of custom made orthotic from a simple shoe insert to a sophisticated support such as my CROW walker consider Custom Orthotic Design Group.
Sincerely,
Mr. MB
