Staff

Administrative Team

Megan has been a part of Custom Orthotic Design Group Ltd. since 1996 working three days a week as an office assistant. Megan helps to make sure our main office in Mississauga runs smoothly.

Allanah Young manages the day to day operations of Custom Orthotic Design Group Ltd., coordinating the clinics and staff for patient care. As Controller, Allanah is the Business Manager and Accountant for all offices.

Clinical Team of Certified Orthotists

James Amesbury B.Sc.C.O.(c) has been a Canadian Board Certified Orthotist since 1996. Jim is a graduate of The Clinical Methods In Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at George Brown College and also has a Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph. Jim's orthotic interests include Orthotic management of poliomyelitis, sports medicine bracing and custom foot orthoses. In his spare time, Jim enjoys coaching his childrens' hockey teams and playing hockey himself.

Ronda Badger B.Sc.C.O.(c) has been a Canadian Board Certified Orthotist since 2001. Ronda holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Biomedical Sciences, from the University of Guelph.

Melanie Chan B.A.Sc.C.O.(c) has recently become a Canadian Board Certified Orthotist in 2009.  She is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science.

Linda Laakso B.Sc.C.O.(c) has been providing Orthotic services to clients since 1995. She is a graduate of the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics and a Minor in Biomedical Sciences. Special Orthotic interests include Orthotic management of the diabetic foot and diabetic foot ulcers.

Stewart Young C.O.(c) C.Ped.(c) has been a Certified Orthotist since 1978 and a Certified Pedorthist since 2000. Past experience includes internship at Chedoke McMaster Hospital in Hamilton and at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where he became Director of The Orthotic Department.  Since 1988 Stewart has been in private practice where he specializes in lower extremity pathologies which require orthotic intervention such as foot orthotics and bracing.

RETAIL TEAM

Lyn Joseph-Alleyne brings over ten years of healthcare retail experience to The Orthotic Centre at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton. As one of our newest members of the orthopaedic footwear and off-the shelf orthopaedic devices retail division, she has adapted quite well to serving the special needs and considerations of our clientele. Lyn has several responsibilites in addition to assessing and fitting clients with speciality shoes and assessing and measuring for compression garments including administration and special orders. Lyn is also responsible for selecting and merchandising our line of footwear for the Hamilton retail location.

Lotoya Reid is a manager and sales professional with over nine years of experience in orthopaedic and sporting goods retail operations. As a complement to her practical experience, Lotoya has a wide range of education in marketing and business. Her goal is to provide excellent customer service, a friendly comfortable environment and to improve the quality of lifestyle for her customers.  A constant quest to find "the right product" drives Lotoya to frequently consult suppliers and stay on top of the orthopaedic footwear industry to bring the customer the best selection of orthopaedic and comfort shoes. To ensure the quality of our footwear we are constantly evaluating our product to enhance comfort, stability and function.

Technical Team

Geoff DeGuzman R.T.O.(c) has been a technician with Custom Orthotic Design Group Ltd. since 1999. He graduated from George Brown College with a Diploma in Technical Methods in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Geoff fabricates orthotic devices in our laboratory in Mississauga and is responsible for laboratory safety and maintenance.

Phillip Murray worked at Custom Orthotic Design Group Ltd. initially on a student work term for a coop placement in 1998. After graduating from high school, Phil started working full time as a technician. Currently, Phil is responsible for device fabrication as well as shipping, receiving and laboratory maintenance in our Mississauga office.
